Subject: 21340/EmployeeDoubleTimePay/TornadoDisaster Date: Tue, 16 Mar 1993 11:20:00 -0500 RESOLUTION NO. 21340 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY FINANCE OFFICER TO PAY DOUBLE TIME PAY TO CERTAIN EMPLOYEES WHO WORKED DURING MARCH 29, 1997, THROUGH MARCH 31, 1997, DUE TO TORNADO CONDITIONS, AND AUTHORIZING AN EXTRA DAY'S COMPENSATION FOR CERTAIN SUPERVISORS FOR EACH EXTRA DAY'S WORK. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the City Finance Officer be and is hereby authorized to make overtime payments due to exempt City employees in Grades 1 through 11 and non-exempt City employees authorized to receive it who were required to work overtime during the period beginning Saturday, March 29, 1997 until 8:00 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 1997, due to the severe conditions caused by the tornado; said overtime payments shall be paid at the rate of two (2) times said employees' normal hourly rates. Supervisors and other exempt employees, not including administrators and charter officials of Grade 12 and above, who were required to work overtime due to the severe weather, but who are not eligible for the double-time, shall be awarded one extra day's salary for each day worked.
